The modern face of a long tradition
Union Glashütte conveys the essence of luxury German watchmaking just as much now as it did 125 years ago. Our workshops in Glashütte produce exquisite watches that, we know, will stand the test of time.
To this day, these exceptional timepieces are still fitted with only mechanical movements. Lovingly hand-crafted by our expert watchmakers with meticulous precision, the watches undergo a series of intricate processes during production. Union Glashütte timepieces proudly wear the "Made in Glashütte" quality seal and the sense of responsibility that comes with it – a responsibility to a tradition that has crafted our company history.
This tradition can be traced all the way back to the end of the 19th century and the eminent watch wholesaler Johannes Dürrstein. A keen expert in the international art of watchmaking as well as a successful businessman, Herr Dürrstein knew precisely what was missing from the market: a top-end timepiece of Glashütte quality that more than just the select few could afford – a piece of affordable luxury. This idea prompted him to found his own watchmaking enterprise, "Glashütter Uhrenfabrik Union", in 1893. It is his vision that drives us, to this day.
Union Glashütte watches are as diverse as the people who wear them. They strike a playful balance between sometimes assumed opposites – elegant and sporty, distinctive and traditional, or modern and vintage – and the collection incorporates a wide range of design styles, with a model for every taste and occasion. Watches for enthusiasts who know what matters: Time for the finer things in life.
